Slowtime Mondays got together during the spring of 2003 as an acoustic duo formed by the young songwriter Luca Negri and guitarist Andrea Garbo. Both had some past experiences with other bands and Andrea Garbo still plays in another rock band called Soulphonics.

Together they started to play some songs written by Luca Negri and arrange them with two guitars and two voices. Satisfied by the music they were making, they played some acoustic gigs followed by the recording of an acoustic demo ( review in milanomods.itgo.com ) that reached many agreements an success in Italy and in some place in Europe. The work was appreciated by a Mod Dj, Daniele Reale who proved to be a loyal support to the band.

The songs were now becoming more mature and the two also composed together "Peace Of Mind", one of their most soulful songs. By now they decided to find some other musician to form a rock'n'roll band playing electric.

The current organic that plays at the gigs is formed by:

Luca Negri ( vocals, guitar )
Andrea Garbo ( guitar, backing vocals )
Manuel Varagnolo ( drums & backing vocals )
Diego 'Rosco' Cominato ( bass ).

They gigged in different places including pubs, clubs and festivals and by April 2nd they turned to be the opening act for the legendary James Taylor Quartet. This gig still means a lot for the Mondays as they got the opportunity to play in front of a very large public and rocked a lot.

Concert after concert the band started to have their followings building a name as a great live act. During this period the group has also recorded their new demo/EP named Brutally Honest. The first track can be listened by clicking the logo in the first page of this site: stm.esmartmusic.com. Brutally Honest is reaching some great results.

The EP shows the many influences of the Mondays: the songwriting of L.Negri is affected by Weller, Ashcroft, Gallagher and the Beatles, the guitar playing is also very bluesy ( A.Garbo loves P.Green's Fleetwood Mac and the Black Crowes ), while the sound of the band is a mix of Soul Music ( Gaye, Mayfield ), Brit Pop, English Rock and West Coast American Music.

Describing their sound is a real hard work; so why don't you go to one of their gigs or listen to the songs? ( check out the home page of the site ). It's just music that comes from heart and soul. Enjoy it!
